Dermal fillers Kent administered by an experienced provider!

December 13, 2022 by admin Leave a Comment

Dentistry includes the study of anatomy, particularly the head and neck. For dentists, a thorough knowledge and understanding of the skin, bones and muscles is essential to be able to practise dentistry. When a tooth is removed, this affects the muscles and skin of the face, eventually resulting in a sunken appearance. When dentists carry out a routine examination of the oral cavity, they look for signs of cancer and other problems. This dental team performs a variety of cosmetic dentistry procedures for their patients. All of this points to the fact that they are eminently qualified to carry out a variety of aesthetic procedures such as dermal fillers Kent treatment.

Developing a relationship

For dentists, part of the treatment of patients is to develop a long-lasting, trusting and candid relationship with each other. Your skin is your largest organ and it is sensitive to the sun, chemicals and injury from accidents. This practice knows the importance of looking after your skin as well as your teeth. It is a logical step for a patient who already has a relationship with a qualified practitioner to consult that practitioner if they want to pursue a course of dermal fillers Kent treatment. All of their treatments, dental or aesthetic, are preceded by an examination and a candid discussion about the best treatment available for you. They always discuss the proposed treatment with a patient. They encourage the patient to ask all the questions that they think necessary to put themselves in a position to make a properly informed decision.

Some artistic ability

Performing dermal filler treatment requires a certain amount of artistic flair by the practitioner. Lip dermal fillers for example can sometimes cause an over-exaggeration of the lips which does not complement the symmetry of the patient’s face. Creating that natural look takes a lot of experience. This is where listening to a patient describing their objective comes naturally to a dentist, enabling them to deliver what that patient wants to achieve.

Non-surgical procedure

A dentist delivers injections to sensitive areas of the mouth on a daily basis and is therefore more than competent to be able to deliver dermal filler injections. Dermal fillers are used to create a more youthful appearance reducing wrinkles and plumping up your lips. It is natural, as we get older, for our skin to become less elastic due to a loss of Collagen. The solution that this dental team uses includes non animal sourced hyaluronic acid gels. Once the areas to be treated are identified, a local anaesthetic will be administered to ensure that you experience a minimal amount of discomfort. The dermal filler treatment is delivered by injection and the duration of the procedure is no more than a few minutes.

Longevity of the treatment

Because this is a non-surgical procedure you can assess the results which will be visible almost immediately. The beauty of this type of procedure is that you can decide whether to have follow-up treatments or not. The duration of the effects depend on the type of skin, the age of the patient and the area that has been treated. The effect of fillers can last for anything from six to twelve months.

A guide to invisible aligners

December 13, 2022 by admin Leave a Comment

In 2022, there are more options than ever before available for adult and even teenage dental patients who want to straighten their teeth. Thanks to advances in orthodontic care, it is now possible to straighten your smile using invisible aligners.

Designed to alleviate issues associated with mild to moderate cases of dental misalignment, invisible aligners have boomed in popularity in recent years and now as many as 97% of adult dental patients are able to straighten their smiles using this method. As the name suggests, invisible aligners are the closest thing you find to an invisible orthodontic appliance and are easy to fit around daily life.

At this point, you may be wondering what the catch is but when it comes to Invisalign MacLeod, there isn’t one. And the following article aims to explore what you can expect when you approach your dentist or orthodontist about undertaking invisible aligners.

The consultation

Firstly, you need to attend the consultation during which the severity of your misalignment will be assessed by your dentist. Provided that the misalignment is located near the front of your mouth and is deemed to be mild or moderate, it’s highly likely you’ll be suitable to wear invisible aligners. Following this, an intraoral scan of your mouth will be taken and the image will be sent to a dental laboratory.

Aligner printing

The intraoral scan of your mouth is used as a base point and using computer technology, a dental technician will digitally move this image to the desired final alignment. Each step of this digital journey will then be replicated using a 3D model, which will then be printed using a 3D printer and voila! Now the aligners are ready and custom-fitted to you! In a typical set, there will be 12 to 14 and these will then be sent back to your dentist for you to collect and begin using.

Daily wear

For the aligners to work, you will need to wear them for around 22 hours per day. If you do not, your realignment process may stall or you may find that your teeth begin to revert to their previous positions. To keep your aligners clean, you simply need to rinse them under a cold water tap and should refrain from wearing them when you are eating, drinking beverages that are not cool water and when you are cleaning your teeth.

Tracking and keeping in touch

A core part of ensuring that your clear aligners work is that they are tracking correctly. That is when they are placed in your mouth, they should feel tight against your teeth but as each aligner moves your teeth, they will begin to feel looser and when they feel very wobbly, usually around two weeks with use. You should then move on to the next one. It is easy to ensure that your treatment is going as planned, as many invisible aligners come with downloadable apps for smartphones which will allow you to send images of your smile to your dentist, so you won’t need to attend dental checkups.

Prolonging results

Once the aligner is off and the treatment is completed, you will need to wear a retainer. This will be to ensure that your teeth stay where they have been moved to and that there is no recurrence of the underlying misalignment that was treated.

DISCLAIMER OFFSITE

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

Straighten teeth to protect against life-threatening diseases

December 13, 2022 by admin Leave a Comment

The impact of teeth straightening treatments goes far beyond improving the appearance of a smile. In fact, orthodontic treatment plans also improve the health of the mouth. When misaligned teeth and overcrowding create challenges to keeping the mouth disease-free, the wearing of braces to straighten teeth can greatly improve oral hygiene. So it seems there are plenty of other benefits to choosing Invisalign in Sheffield in addition to enhancing smiles.

Why is oral hygiene of such great concern to dental professionals? Researchers have discovered that poor oral health issues do not just affect your smile and your dental health. The Oral Health Foundation is quite clear – poor oral health issues such as oral infections, tooth decay and gum disease can be linked with medical complaints and systemic conditions elsewhere in the body.

One research study looking at the effects of poor oral hygiene found that those exhibiting symptoms including loose teeth, bleeding gums and mouth ulcers were 75 per cent most likely to also develop hepatocellular carcinoma – a prevalent type of primary liver cancer. Other life-threatening conditions linked to poor oral health include strokes, dementia and Alzheimer’s.

The positive impact of teeth straightening treatments

Healthier and stronger teeth are one of the best reasons to straighten teeth. Teeth that are easier to clean are better protected from the build up of plaque that results in cavities and gum disease.

Teeth straightening treatments help protect tooth longevity. Misaligned teeth and overcrowding are oral conditions that place undue pressure on certain teeth during masticatory function. This additional stress can lead to fractures and premature wear and tear. As a result tooth enamel weakens and the tooth becomes damaged and lost if not rehabilitated properly.

People often forget that gums, too, can benefit from dental care such as teeth straightening. Wide spaces between teeth and overcrowding often result in gums becoming swollen and red in appearance. Gum disease results in not only tooth loss, but also deterioration of jaw bone density.

There are multiple ways straightening teeth can positively impact confidence levels. The most widely accepted way is to enhance dental appearance for ever-ready smiles. The other is improved speech. Orthodontic problems such as overcrowding can create distortions in the pronunciation of certain sounds which are removed after wearing braces and teeth are properly spaced and positioned where they should be.

Then there is the positive influence on physical and mental health. But how does this influence come about? The answer lies once again in poor oral hygiene and the bad bacteria that are allowed to flourish in such an environment.

It is these bad bacteria that are responsible for unwanted problems like plaque, cavities and gum disease. Researchers have found that bad oral bacteria can leave the mouth and enter the bloodstream and make their way to the blood vessels of vital organs such as the heart and lungs.

Relief from pain is another benefit of teeth straightening treatments. Orthodontic problems such as misaligned jaws can cause headaches and facial pain. Correcting these problems with braces can help improve the patient’s life by reducing the pain and discomfort they experience.

Thanks to orthodontic treatments, there is a lot more to enjoy about healthier teeth and gums than a pleasing smile.

Update your smile with Invisalign Fulham

December 13, 2022 by admin Leave a Comment

If you’re looking for a simple way to turn your smile goals into achievable results look no further than Invisalign Fulham.

Invisalign aligners offer a discreet and simple way to straighten crooked teeth for a healthy, glowing smile. The incredible treatment has been used by dental practitioners from all around the world offering optimal results.

In addition to straighter teeth, patients can look forward to enjoying a range of added benefits such as improved digestion and a boost in their confidence levels.

Smile with confidence thanks to Invisalign aligners

If you’re passionate about your oral health and would like to upgrade your smile consider Invisalign for incredible results. It offers a great way to help correct misaligned teeth for a straighter smile and treat overlapping or overcrowding. Patients who experience either of these issues may find that they struggle to brush their teeth properly. This may result in a build-up of plaque or tartar forming and could increase their risk of infection and make them more susceptible to experiencing gum disease. By straightening their teeth using clear aligners it will result in a more even smile and there will be more space between each tooth. This will allow patients to have clear access to all teeth when brushing, lowering their risk of infection.

Consider Invisalign for the freedom to eat and drink without any restrictions

For those patients who experience crooked or misaligned teeth, some food items may be difficult to bite or chew. This in turn has a negative effect on their overall digestion. Thanks to Invisalign, the clear aligners help to straighten their teeth and will allow patients the freedom to bite and chew with ease. Dining out with friends and family will be a stress-free experience as there will be no restrictions on the food and drink they are able to enjoy from the menu.

Enjoy the freedom to remove your aligners daily

One of the leading advantages of choosing Invisalign is the ability to remove the aligner trays each day. Unlike traditional metal braces which are permanently fixed onto the patient’s teeth for the duration of the treatment plan, patients who choose Invisalign can remove their aligners on their own. It is recommended that patients wear the aligners for around 20 hours each day leaving 4 hours of freedom. This also enables patients the access to brush their teeth each day and enjoy eating meals without the aligner in place.

Enjoy a boost to your self-confidence levels

If you’re feeling self-conscious or embarrassed about your smile, consider Invisalign to help correct the appearance of your teeth. An added benefit of having a straighter smile is the boost to your self-confidence levels. Thanks to Invisalign patients feel more confident and have been known to become more social as a result. If you are embarrassed about your smile and limit your social interaction with friends or colleagues as a result, consider Invisalign to help offer an added boost.

Enjoy a personalised treatment plan with optimal results

Invisalign aligner trays are created especially for each patient and are tailor-made using the patient’s specifications and personal needs. Dentists believe that this approach delivers optimal results as no two patients are the same. If you are considering teeth straightening options Invisalign is a great choice to consider based on the numerous benefits it offers patients in addition to straighter teeth.

Dental implants for replacing missing teeth

December 13, 2022 by admin Leave a Comment

dentist on mouth operation.jpg

It is important to visit the dentist on a regular basis so that any dental issues can be detected early on and treated successfully before they have an irreversible effect on your teeth. Tooth decay and gum disease are the main causes of tooth extractions or missing teeth. Although tooth replacement has advanced significantly in the last few decades it is better to restore and preserve your natural teeth than replace them with prosthetics. There are a wide range of restorative dental treatments available and if you visit your dentist regularly then you can prevent irreversible issues. Unfortunately if you do have to undergo a tooth extraction or your tooth falls out as a result of tooth decay, gum disease or an injury to your mouth, then most dentists recommend that dental implants Ryde are the best way to replace your missing teeth.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are the gold standard in replacing missing teeth. They are made up of three parts: the implant, the abutment and the crown to replace your missing tooth. Dental implants are made of medical grade titanium. This means that they are light, very strong and they are also biocompatible which makes them the best choice for oral implants. Used in aeroplanes and rockets, the titanium in dental implants provides you with the strong foundation that is necessary for successful tooth replacement. Allergies with titanium are very rare and it is also non-corrosive. Dental implants initiate a natural bodily function known as osseointegration. The implant is inserted into the bone socket of your missing tooth and osseointegration occurs, which is a healing process that causes bone tissue to grow around the implant so that the implant becomes fused within the bone and cannot be separated unless the bone is fractured. This means that dental implants have added strength and stability providing a permanent solution to replacing your missing teeth.

Dental implant surgery

Dental implant surgery involves drilling a small hole into the bone socket of your tooth to insert the implant. This is carried out under anaesthetic and although you may feel a slight vibration and pressure in the mouth you will not feel any pain or discomfort. For patients who suffer from anxiety or dental phobia you can speak to your dentist and find out about other sedation techniques that may be available for you. Once the implant has been placed into the jaw the gum is stitched back into place so that the healing process can begin.

Can I replace my teeth immediately?

In some cases you can speak to your dentist about a temporary replacement for your missing tooth. This can be carried out for front teeth but it may not be suitable for molars. Even so it will only be possible if you have neatly aligned teeth, a good bite and no other underlying issues, however, it will still be at your risk and if possible it is better to wait for the implant to heal to replace the tooth. Speak to your dentist to find out more about replacing your missing teeth with dental implants and enjoy a healthy and happy smile for a long time.

Get the treatment you need without the stress

December 13, 2022 by admin Leave a Comment

For many people, going to their local dentist Brentwood isn’t easy; it can be a seriously challenging and anxiety-inducing process with usually long and complicated origins, sometimes completely beyond the patient’s memory.

The long-term impact

Dental anxieties can make even relatively minor conditions complicated, not because of the treatment process itself but because of the delay in seeking treatment. Many patients choose to ignore minor symptoms and avoid check-ups, only attending when absolutely compelled to do so. For instance, the difference between a routine filling and a crowning is that a crowning is significantly more invasive and expensive and could have been prevented if dealt with earlier.

An expert solution

If you’re reading this, and you know you have dental anxiety, then congratulations! Many patients find it easier to deny or avoid recognising the issue, and there may be some real value in asking why and finding the root of the problem. But this is not the expectation, and gaining access to treatment in the short term is usually more important when addressing any sort of dental phobia in the long term, especially if you have a toothache.

To this end, sedation dentistry has become quite popular; this is a return to the times in dentistry where you become partially unconscious rather than locally numbed. Sedation was standard in traditional dentistry with the use of nitrous oxide but lost its popularity as local analgesics like lidocaine and novocaine became standard. These acted far more quickly and were disruptive to patients’ everyday life, but they did retain an unaltered consciousness through the entire procedure. For anxious patients, this is entirely unacceptable.

With the development of new sedatives, it has become possible for patients to be in twilight sedation. These sedatives do not depress breathing, so they can be used more safely in clinical environments without an anesthesiologist. They have the added benefit of allowing more invasive procedures like dental implants to be conveniently performed in local clinics rather than hospital facilities and operating theatres.

Helping friends and family

Helping friends and family suffering from dental anxiety can be challenging. Often they will become evasive or confrontational when faced with the need for dental care. Try to convince them that it would be in their best interests and offer to accompany them if they find it reassuring. Mention the option of sedation dentistry and how they will have no memories of receiving treatment.

The use of sedation does have imitations. The patient will not be able to operate heavy machinery or drive for 24 hours after being sedated, and they will also need someone to safely escort them out of the clinic. During sedation, patients become highly suggestive and cooperative, so it is important to ensure they have a trusted person with them at all times and do not make any major financial decisions.

Many patients more often feel a great deal of shame about their oral hygiene and the conditions they are currently suffering from. It is very important to reassure them that their dentist, as a professional, is likely to have seen worse and is not there to make a judgement but rather to provide a service.

Restore your smile and boost your confidence levels with Invisalign in Bromley

December 13, 2022 by admin Leave a Comment

If you’re hoping to improve the current appearance of your teeth and restore your smile, look no further than Invisalign in Bromley.

This orthodontic dental solution helps to straighten and correct misaligned teeth and has proven to deliver incredible results for all kinds of patients. If you have crooked teeth that you have longed to straighten, consider Invisalign as your dental solution of choice.

If you find that you struggle with gaining access to your teeth when brushing due to overlapping or other types of misalignment Invisalign is able to assist. It can also help to boost your confidence and make your goals a reality.

Patients can experience plaque build-up as a result of overcrowded teeth

Did you know that one of the main reasons cavities or plaque build-up occurs is a result of your teeth overcrowding and not being able to clean them thoroughly. This could also result in a patient experiencing an increase in tartar and being at risk of infection. In addition, you could become more susceptible to having gum disease. Invisalign not only helps to straighten your teeth, but it can also help with adding more space between your teeth so that you can enjoy brushing with ease.

Restore your smile with the help of clear aligner trays

Invisalign involves the patient wearing custom-made aligner trays that are fitted onto their teeth and can be easily removed by them each day. The aligners gently move your teeth to correct any misalignment or overlapping helping to create a healthy smile. If you’re considering your dental options for teeth straightening, consider Invisalign to help with your smile journey.

Invisalign can help restore your ability to eat a variety of foods

Did you know that thanks to these aligners patients are able to enjoy a variety of food and drink without having to worry about any restrictions. It also will help with your ability to chew and the strength of your bite as teeth crowding can reduce your bite force.

Wear your aligner trays for just 20 hours a day

One of the leading advantages of choosing Invisalign aligners is that they can be removed periodically for a short period of time each day. Unlike traditional metal braces which are permanently fixed to the patient’s teeth, Invisalign can be removed by the patient each day. The recommended treatment time every day is around 20 hours in order to enjoy optimal results at the end of your treatment plan. This advantage allows patients to enjoy the freedom of having food and drink without wearing aligners, as well as being able to brush their teeth unhindered.

Boost your self-confidence levels with a healthy, happy smile

For those patients who feel self-conscious about having crooked or misaligned teeth, Invisalign aligners offer a great way to restore their smile. Do you try to avoid social interaction at work with colleagues or being around family and friends due to being embarrassed about the appearance of your smile? Invisalign can help straighten your teeth so you can enjoy renewed levels of self-confidence while smiling broadly.

Simple and efficient teeth straightening with Invisalign

December 13, 2022 by admin Leave a Comment

Invisalign is a modern and favoured method of teeth straightening used by millions of patients across the world to address the misalignment issues that are affecting the appearance and the health of their teeth. In comparison to other orthodontic systems and procedures the treatment time is shorter and Invisalign in Parramatta can correct the misalignment issues of your teeth within 6 to 12 months. It is better suited for patients who suffer from mild or moderate misalignment issues of the teeth so if you have more complicated orthodontic needs then perhaps fixed braces are a more suitable option for you. Invisalign can also be used in combination with other orthodontic treatments. You may begin orthodontic treatment with fixed braces and once your teeth have started moving then you may switch to Invisalign to complete the process.

Why choose Invisalign?

Invisalign is a great way of improving the appearance of your teeth and promoting better dental health. If your teeth are crooked or wonky then despite regular brushing and flossing it is still likely that bacteria and food particles remain in those hard-to-reach areas that your brush cannot reach. If your teeth are neatly aligned then there is less room for plaque or bacteria to build up and this helps promote better dental health and wellbeing. By addressing crooked and wonky teeth Invisalign helps transform the appearance of your smile. A neatly aligned smile is attractive and welcoming and it will help boost your self-confidence and bring positivity to all aspects of your life.

Am I too old for Invisalign?

Invisalign is suitable for nearly everyone. It is a gentle yet efficient orthodontic treatment and it can be used in teenagers, adults and the elderly. To undergo successful teeth straightening with Invisalign it is important that you have healthy teeth and gums to begin with. Your dentist will carry out a thorough examination of your mouth to make sure that it is appropriate to move your teeth. As long as your teeth and gums are healthy you are never too old to find out about teeth straightening at the dentist. If it is decided that Invisalign is not suitable for you then your dentist will consider other orthodontic options to help you achieve the smile that you are looking for.

What are the advantages of Invisalign?

There are many different advantages of Invisalign which is why it is one of the most popular orthodontic treatments across the world. In the last 20 years it has helped correct more than 13 million smiles and it still continues to help thousands of patients in dental practices across Australia. One of the main reasons for its popularity is that it uses clear thermoplastic aligners to straighten teeth. This means that the aligners are almost invisible and you can move your teeth at your discretion without anyone even knowing that you are undergoing dental treatment unless you wish to tell them. To learn more about the advantages of Invisalign, speak to your dentist and find out what Invisalign can do for you.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

Invisalign: getting a winning smile just gets easier!

December 13, 2022 by admin Leave a Comment

When it comes to having misaligned teeth, the assumption can often be that you will need to have fixed metal braces. While this may be necessary for those with more complex alignment issues, it is not true for everybody. There are many different discreet treatment options available as the world of dentistry evolves and technology advances. One such treatment is Invisalign and a dentist Richmond may recommend this if you have an alignment issue such as a crossbite, over or underbite, gapped or crowded teeth.

I’ve never heard of Invisalign. What is it?

Invisalign is a treatment that consists of transparent plastic aligners. They are worn over the teeth and being clear plastic, only the teeth should be visible to other people. This means that you can have your aligners on at any time of the day or night, and you will be able to continue with your life as normal. The aligners push the teeth into the correct position and this can take between 6 to 18 months on average. You will need to change your aligners every couple of weeks and your dentist will provide you with the aligners you will need for 6 weeks, before you have your dental check-up and get more of them then. The aligners are made bespoke for your mouth, so they should be ultra comfortable to wear. Dentists will use an iTero digital scan to map the measurements of your mouth and these will be sent to the Invisalign laboratories, so that your aligners can be made to measure. They can also show you an animation of how your teeth will appear at the end of the treatment, before you even get started!

Will I need to wear the aligners all the time?

The great thing about Invisalign is that you can remove the aligners for 2 hours each day. This enables you to take them out at mealtimes, so you won’t have to worry about altering your diet or have to clean the aligners after eating. You will also be able to brush your teeth easily as you won’t have your aligners in your mouth to get in your way. There should also be time left to take them out for other reasons that you can choose. Whether you just fancy a little break to read a book or you want to go and do some sport without your aligners in, the choice is completely yours.

Do I need to realign my teeth?

Aside from an improved appearance, it is far more beneficial to have aligned teeth than not. Firstly, once your teeth are aligned, it will enable you to clean them properly and there won’t be any difficult areas to get to and for bacteria to hide! With misaligned teeth, you may have developed chewing issues or speech difficulties. You may also have developed some jaw pain. By realigning your smile, these problems could also be remedied, which is certainly beneficial alongside having an attractive smile!

Teen and adult ranges

Invisalign also offers a range specifically for teenagers, called Invisalign Teen. This is suitable as long as they have all of their adult teeth. Similarly, adults could be eligible for the adult range. A dentist offering Invisalign would need to examine you to determine the appropriate treatment. If you are offered Invisalign, you can look forward to a hassle-free treatment that is comfortable, convenient, and easy for you to do!

Why visiting a dentist is so important

While most people will do everything they can to avoid the development of a serious oral health issue, there is no guarantee that brushing the teeth alone will be good enough to avoid the need to visit a dental practice. It is true that brushing the teeth twice a day will help people to steer away from the risk of developing the need for serious dental treatment, however, this is not the only action people should take when it comes to looking after their oral hygiene needs.

One of the most important acts that people can carry out when it comes to looking after their oral health is visiting a dentist in Tunbridge Wells for their regular oral hygiene checks, as doing so may help to spot the warning signs of a developing oral health issue.

The sad fact is that there are a growing number of adults living in the United Kingdom who are not registered with a dental practice, this then makes it harder for them to access any dental treatment or care they may need. Unfortunately this often causes any oral issues that they have left to worsen and may lead to a lowering of their overall oral hygiene standards. Later on this will also increase the chances that someone will have to undergo invasive dental treatment such as tooth fillings, root canals, or extractions.

Patients need not be nervous

One of the reasons that many people avoid visiting the dentist for any treatment they may require is the fact they do not like the thought of having dental procedures and this can make them feel very nervous. Many people conjure up an image of a person putting a drill and other metal implements into their mouth when they think of having dental treatment, a thought that many find unpleasant at the very least and this may stop them from going for the treatment they need.

A picture containing person

Description automatically generated

Potential patients need to understand that if they leave a serious oral health issue untreated then it will only worsen over time, this can cause further complications to develop and may mean that they will need treatment that may have not been required when the issue first became apparent. Often time is the greatest risk factor when it comes to dealing with an oral health issue, patients need to be aware of the need for early intervention if they are to receive a successful resolution, without complications, to any oral health problem they are experiencing.

There is no need for any patient to feel unduly nervous when visiting a dental practice, as they need to see these places in a different light. Instead of creating a negative idea of dental practices, patients should see these places as havens of care that help to ease discomfort in many different ways, whether concerning dental pain or embarrassment due to the aesthetics of a smile.

Patients also need to understand that no one at a dental practice will force them to do anything against their will, each patient is in complete control of their treatment and all final treatment decisions are in the patient’s hands.

Find a dentist if you do not have one

There is no need for anyone to avoid going to the dentist due to nerves, as these are places that only wish to offer care and treatment to all patients who are in need of help and understanding.
