Yellow diamonds are the most common colored diamond. But, there are a few things you should know and consider before looking for a yellow diamond.

Are Yellow Diamonds Rare?

Colored diamonds are a rarity. However, yellow diamonds are the most common colored diamonds, which means you might find them more than a green or pink diamond. Nonetheless, they may still not be as popular as the standard white diamonds.

That means if you are looking for wedding rings Vancouver, or perhaps anywhere else in the world, you might still have a problem looking for a yellow diamond.

Are Yellow Diamonds Valuable?

A diamond’s clarity and color are significant indications of its quality.

There is what is known as a diamond color scale used for white diamonds. It goes from the letters D to Z, and as the diamond is closer to Z, it means it has a more yellow-ish tone and less clear. With that, the value lessens.

But, that does mean yellow diamonds aren’t an excellent investment because of their value?

If the diamond has a less faded yellow look and a more vibrant yellow tone, it’s considered a yellow diamond, and the price starts going back up again. That means that diamonds with a vibrant yellow shade are a little more expensive.

How are Yellow Diamonds Made?

Like with any white diamonds, yellow diamonds are naturally-occurring under the earth’s surface. They are formed with extreme pressure and temperature.

But unlike white diamonds, yellow diamonds have nitrogen found within it, giving it is yellow shade. This impurity is also present in orange and brown diamonds that give them their color.

Pure yellow diamonds are extremely rare. Most of the time, these stones have two or even three colors. They often have an overtone, such as orange-yellow, brown-yellow, or green-yellow, which are actually the most common color combination found in yellow diamonds.

The intensity of yellow diamonds is also graded from faint to fancy vivid.

Do Yellow Diamonds Have Meanings?

Some people believe that the color of stones in an engagement or wedding ring has another meaning.

In this instance, yellow diamonds are meant to symbolize enthusiasm or optimism. It is based on color psychology. That could mean that if you give your partner a yellow diamond, you are incredibly happy to have them in your life forever. Indeed, it’s an excellent way to symbolize your love for one another.

Yellow diamonds, although the most common colored diamonds are still rare. They are valuable and have a great meaning behind it. It’s definitely a great choice if you’re looking for a unique wedding or engagement ring.

Hi Friends!
I'm Fern and I have a love for travel, beauty, health and flowers! I went to school for nutrition, but wasn't really interested in being a nutritionist. So, I started to bartend and have since I graduated school a year ago.
I love talking to people, traveling and writing on my blog... and bartending allows me to do the things I love.

I can take off for a month to travel abroad and there will never be any shortage of bartending/serving jobs when I get home. I also love that I can work abroad bartending anywhere I want! So, I hope you enjoy my blog and if you have any questions, feel free to email me! :)
