Is Your Home Safe from Burglars? 4 Ways to Secure Your Property

May 23, 2019 by admin Leave a Comment

Most people will do everything to protect their homes. It is a common practice for homeowners to lock the doors and close the windows before heading to bed at night. However, these security measures seem to be not enough. You might find yourself asking what the things are that you need to do to secure your property and keep everyone at home safe, even in the middle of the night. Here are some expert tips that you can consider.

Build a tall fence around the area

The most common thing that you can do is to build a tall fence that will deter robbers from lurking. However, if you have neighbours, it is best to seek assistance from a party wall surveyor Cheshire offers, to make sure that you are not going beyond your designated property. If you feel that you are not safe in your community, then it is best to install a tall fence with barbed wire so that thieves will have a hard time entering your place.

Inspect your front and back doors thoroughly

Your doors are the most vulnerable entry and exit points for robbers. It is a great idea to invest your hard-earned money in sturdy doors made of hardwood or thick steel slabs instead of using a lightweight wooden material that is commercially available. Heavy doors will make it more difficult for intruders to kick them open, especially if there are heavy reinforcements such as deadbolts and big screws attached.

Trick burglars into believing that somebody is home

If you think that burglaries happen only at night, well, surprisingly, there are also incidents that occur in broad daylight, especially during noontime when most occupants in the household are at work or in school. Burglars have their way of choosing their potential target by observing the area for a couple of days before staging their plans. If there is nobody left in your house during the daytime, you can leave some of the appliances on such as the TV or radio and make burglars think that somebody is home. If you come home late, you can ask a favour from your neighbour to turn on the lights in your front porch.

Secure your windows

If your house has glass windows, then it is best that you add additional security by installing extra locks on top of the windows so intruders will not be able to reach them. Blinds and curtains can also prevent them from entering your house easily. Tinting your windows can also help by making them shatterproof, which will deter intruders because most of them would like to come in unannounced. If you can afford to install sensors and alarms on all of your windows all the better. Owners are immediately notified through SMS when someone unauthorised has opened the windows. In response to the notification, you can remotely turn on the lights and also retrieve a video recording of the incident, making it easier to track down the suspect.

Hi Friends!
I'm Fern and I have a love for travel, beauty, health and flowers! I went to school for nutrition, but wasn't really interested in being a nutritionist. So, I started to bartend and have since I graduated school a year ago.
I love talking to people, traveling and writing on my blog... and bartending allows me to do the things I love.

I can take off for a month to travel abroad and there will never be any shortage of bartending/serving jobs when I get home. I also love that I can work abroad bartending anywhere I want! So, I hope you enjoy my blog and if you have any questions, feel free to email me! :)
