Adrenal Fatigue – What Is It And How Do You Beat It?

August 20, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

Do you suffer from unexplained fatigue and low energy? You may be suffering from adrenal fatigue. Here we will be taking an in-depth look at this condition, its symptoms, how it is diagnosed and what you can do to help yourself feel better. You can also visit Analyze That for more information about your health concerns.

What Is Adrenal Fatigue?

The adrenal glands are two small glands that are found on top of the kidneys. These glands serve a variety of purposes; however, their most important function is the production of hormones. These glands are also responsible for the production of cortisol, which is the body’s stress hormone. When you are in a stressful situation, your adrenal glands will produce this hormone to help your body cope with this situation. When you suffer from prolonged stress, your body uses more cortisol than your body is able to produce. When you do not have enough cortisol in your body, the stress that you are exposed to will begin to take a toll on your body and leave you with a variety of uncomfortable symptoms.

Symptoms Of Adrenal Fatigue

  • Experiencing fatigue in the morning and the need for caffeine and stimulants to get you going.
  • A sudden loss of energy in the afternoon between two and four P.M.
  • Bursts of energy in the evening.
  • Chronic fatigue and exhaustion.
  • Feeling tired yet wired.
  • Feeling like you have to push through all the time.
  • Difficulty getting to sleep, waking frequently, or poor sleep.
  • Insomnia.
  • Dizzy spells when you stand up after being seated.
  • Poor memory.
  • Inability to concentrate.
  • Strong cravings for sugar, refined carbohydrates, and caffeine.
  • Craving salty foods.
  • Anxiety.
  • Feeling generally run down or overwhelmed.
  • Allergies.
  • Low blood sugar.
  • Panic attacks.
  • Aches and pains.
  • Depression.
  • PMT, menopause, and fertility problems.
  • Digestive issues.
  • Headaches.
  • Sensitivity to cold.

How Is Adrenal Fatigue Diagnosed?

Unfortunately, there are no medical tests that can confirm whether you suffer from adrenal fatigue. However, if you speak to your healthcare practitioner, your doctor may be able to recommend a variety of blood tests that can detect fluctuations in the hormones that your thyroid gland produces. Your doctor may also recommend specific tests for your cortisol levels.

Natural Remedies For Adrenal Fatigue

  • Try the adrenal diet – Your diet can have a significant impact on your adrenal fatigue. Inflammation can make your adrenal fatigue much worse so you should try to avoid foods that cause inflammation. Try to remove all of the carbs from your diet and load up on fresh fruit and vegetables.
  • Try to get to bed early – Most people have a surge of cortisol after 11 P.M. at night. If you are awake when you experience that surge you will struggle to fall asleep and your body will not be able to process the cortisol effectively. If you want to help your body through a bought of adrenal fatigue, you should make sure you get to bed before 11 P.M.
  • Make rest a priority – When you give yourself permission to take a few breaks every day you will notice a significant reduction in the amount of stress and anxiety you experience. This will also provide your adrenal glands with the opportunity to recover.
  • Find new ways to cope with stress – When you suffer from adrenal fatigue, it is your body showing you that your current coping strategies are not working. When you are stressed, find new ways to snap yourself out of the anxiety. You can try going for a walk or start a new hobby.
  • Change your perspective – If you find yourself unable to recover from adrenal fatigue it may be your body’s way of telling you to step back and look at your life. Cut down on all the non-essentials and put a greater priority on your health.

Hi Friends!
I'm Fern and I have a love for travel, beauty, health and flowers! I went to school for nutrition, but wasn't really interested in being a nutritionist. So, I started to bartend and have since I graduated school a year ago.
I love talking to people, traveling and writing on my blog... and bartending allows me to do the things I love.

I can take off for a month to travel abroad and there will never be any shortage of bartending/serving jobs when I get home. I also love that I can work abroad bartending anywhere I want! So, I hope you enjoy my blog and if you have any questions, feel free to email me! :)
