8 Helpful Tips for Better Picture Results

July 31, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

Tired of looking at crummy looking photos? Can your photos not compare to the beauty of London? Get better photos with these helpful tips:

  1. Focus the camera

Use different lenses or different apertures to bring your subject into focus. Practice shooting and monitor the result to see which lens or aperture yields the best result.

  1. Move in closer

Moving in closer creates a different feel and perspective than taking a shot from a distance. Get as close as possible to the subject you want to take a picture of. Get the subject to fill up the frame. You will deeply appreciate this technique when you finally view the taken shot.

  1. Be selective

Choose which thing you are most interested in. It can be a person, thing, animal, and/or a place. Once you have pinpointed your subject, concentrate your efforts in bringing out the best of them. Crop out anything that will destroy the beauty of the photo. Check the side of the frames to make sure there is no dangling wire or unsightly objects in the way.

  1. Play with the lighting

Check where the sun is hitting. Know where to place the subject to avoid them looking dark in the photos. When the sun is directly behind them, you must ask them to turn the opposite way or sideways, so they’ll look clearer in the photos. Better still, do it yourself. Move around to discover which position is more appropriate to get the perfect picture. Observe the light and play with it.

This also applies to artificial light. You can play with light to fit your purpose. You must decide for yourself if you want to create a silhouette effect, a glowing effect, etc. Side lighting helps create a dramatic photo. Indirect lighting can be used if you want your subject to look softer.

  1. Be bold

To get the perfect shot, you might need to try out new and scary things. For example, if you want a better picture of a waterfall, you might need to go up to the highest point to take the shot. Be brave and learn to enjoy the experience.

  1. Learn to shoot in the dark

When night time comes, it gets harder to take good photos. You must learn how to take beautiful photos in the dark. You may need to strategize and play up what little amount of light you have. You can also try learning different ways to use flash to help you get that perfect shot.

  1. Avoid cliché poses

Think big when it comes to making your subject look incredible. You can play with your background and have a little fun with it, like making illusions.

  1. It’s all about the angle

Learn how you can make your picture look natural and alive. The trick here is to learn which angle will suit the scenery, person or thing you want to take photos of. Sometimes, a change in angle makes all the difference.

These are just some of the tips we have gathered for you to get better pictures. Need more help? Consider joining one of the many Photoion photography workshops to learn more.

Hi Friends!
I'm Fern and I have a love for travel, beauty, health and flowers! I went to school for nutrition, but wasn't really interested in being a nutritionist. So, I started to bartend and have since I graduated school a year ago.
I love talking to people, traveling and writing on my blog... and bartending allows me to do the things I love.

I can take off for a month to travel abroad and there will never be any shortage of bartending/serving jobs when I get home. I also love that I can work abroad bartending anywhere I want! So, I hope you enjoy my blog and if you have any questions, feel free to email me! :)
