Exterior House Renovations for Your Home

November 12, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

Some people don’t think twice about what their house looks like on the outside. The furnishings inside the home are the priority of course, but similar to a first date; you know that you want to buy a house from just taking a look at its exterior. It is important for potential buyers of your home if you’re thinking about selling.  Adding emphasis to your home’s look on the outside can significantly improve its appeal to your guests and visitors, and maybe potential home buyers as well. Here are some of the suggestions that you can include to add to your home renovations if you’re looking to improve the look of your house.

Installing a front porch

One of the benefits of living in the suburbs is having a large patch of green land to maximise your home’s appeal. A front porch might seem like a simple addition to your home, but it can also be a great way to welcome your guests. This includes a nicely paved driveway as well! A front porch allows you to have a larger space for holding guests. If you’re looking to put your house on the market soon, porches are great highlights to add to your property so that you’ll have a place to relax and enjoy the summer breeze or to have a safe place during seasons with heavy downpours.

Don’t forget to have your wood finish varnished so that it will be able to last a long time in your property. Proper maintenance is an efficient way of making sure that you preserve your home’s look.

Landscaping

There are many ways to address landscaping. One of the popular choices is having hedges placed around your front lawn. A great alternative is blending a mix of exterior remodelling and dealing with the landscape. Having a flatbed of grass may seem to be an attractive option, but you should also consider having paved tiles to match your home’s look that complements the colour of your exterior walls. There are options in permeable paving that allow you to have the aesthetic of having tiled flooring without sacrificing the circulation of rainfall during the rainy seasons. Finding what’s both functional and attractive is the way to develop any renovation.

Including accents

Installing accents to highlight the borders of your home can be done through thick hedges, cement walls, iron gates, and even a simple garden picket fence. The effect that the accents bring is in allowing your guests or potential buyers to see the edges of your property, so there won’t be any funny business when it comes to knowing where one property starts and where the next one ends.

The trick is in figuring out which type of accent will make your house pop out. Iron gates with a black and gold finish are great at highlighting the dark wooden frames of your home. If your house’s paint colour is naturally light and close to pastel, the building of cement walls to match a darker shade of its tone can be a great addition to your home’s overall look.

Hi Friends!
I'm Fern and I have a love for travel, beauty, health and flowers! I went to school for nutrition, but wasn't really interested in being a nutritionist. So, I started to bartend and have since I graduated school a year ago.
I love talking to people, traveling and writing on my blog... and bartending allows me to do the things I love.

I can take off for a month to travel abroad and there will never be any shortage of bartending/serving jobs when I get home. I also love that I can work abroad bartending anywhere I want! So, I hope you enjoy my blog and if you have any questions, feel free to email me! :)
